Fulfilling Potential

To help build relationships and reduce social exclusion in order to assist individuals, families and communities to fulfil their potential and contribute to society...

2010 partnerships and initiatives include:

  • supporting secondary schools to provide improved educational experiences for larger numbers of young people through our support to the re-launched Human Scale Education charity and their programme of seminars, visits, development of model projects and consultancy, and a research and publication programme;

  • improving the quality and coherence of services for individuals with complex needs through support of the Making Every Adult Matter coalition and support and evaluation of pilot projects that better connect services and can be replicated more widely;

  • providing opportunities for social connections across all ages including through support for a strong, geographically representative network of Intergenerational practitioners, identifying, supporting and evaluating pilot intergenerational projects in the UK, Ireland and Portugal;

  • supporting initiatives that address isolation and loneliness in old age though a coalition of practitioners and experts, and projects identified through the Independent Age–Gulbenkian report into the use of new technology among older people, and related initiatives.
